National Protected Forest Reserve

  • A National Protected Forest Reserve is a geographic space in which forest ecosystems maintain their function, although their structure and composition has been modified, and the associated natural values are made available to the population for their preservation, sustainable use, restoration, knowledge and enjoyment. This area of public or private property is reserved for the establishment or maintenance and sustainable use of forests and other natural vegetation cover.

  • Currently, Colombia has 56 National Protected Forest Reserves, covering a geographic area of 546,700.77 hectares of land:
