There are two official zones where all official activities related to COP16 will take place: the Blue Zone and the Green Zone.
Blue Zone: The Blue Zone is the venue for the Conference of the Parties, managed by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity and administered by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

This area will be located in the Events Center "Valle del Pacífico", located in the north of the city of Santiago de Cali, with easy access from the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport and from the main roads of the city, which facilitates the arrival of local and international attendees.
The Blue Zone will be located in the Valle del Pacífico Event Center, the second largest and most modern event space in Colombia and the most modern in the Latin American Pacific region. Its strategic location, on the Cali - Yumbo Highway, is only 15 minutes away from the Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International Airport and 20 minutes from the hotel zone of Santiago de Cali, capital of the department of Valle del Cauca. It has a bioclimatic, multifunctional and modular infrastructure, with a total area of 77,419 m², including 40,940 m² built and about 25,000 m² of green areas. The venue is equipped to host large-scale events and can accommodate up to 12,000 people.
The Blue Zone is the formal conference and negotiation space managed by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). It is the venue for all official sessions, meetings, side events and press conferences held during COP16. Only participants accredited by the CBD, including Party delegations, Heads of State, admitted observers and accredited press are allowed to enter the Blue Zone.

Green Zone:
The Green Zone is conceived as a space dedicated to the development of events, educational activities, dialogues, exhibitions, gastronomic manifestations and cultural displays that enhance the agenda foreseen in the formal spaces of the Blue Zone. The Green Zone will be the epicenter of the social mobilization strategy and will materialize the value promise of turning COP16 into the COP of the people.

The Green Zone will be located in the Bulevar del Rio, downtown Cali, 14 km from the Valle del Pacífico Convention Center, where the COP negotiations agenda and related events will take place.
